About This Experience
This tour begins with the drive out of Porto through the UNESCO-listed Douro Valley, with a coffee break in Amarante — a riverside town worth the stop for the Church and Convent of São Gonçalo and its artisan pastry shops.
On the full-day option, you'll continue to a boutique family-owned wine estate for a guided tour and tasting, followed by a sit-down lunch paired with Douro reds and whites (vegetarian and vegan options available on request).
After lunch, the route continues to Pinhão with a photo stop overlooking the valley's terraced slopes, then a relaxing one-hour river cruise past some of the Douro's most photographed scenery. A second wine estate visit — typically Quinta da Roeda or Quinta São Luíz — rounds out the day with three more tastings before the return drive along the N222.
A half-day option is also available without the lunch and second winery for travelers short on time or budget.
